      Professor Finn, the calmest man in the trading pit, lived by a simple motto: “The market often lies to the impatient.” His favorite pattern, the Hikkake<\/strong> (Japanese for “hook” or “trap”), was proof of this financial deception. It\u2019s the professional’s equivalent of waiting for the magician to finish the cheap trick before spotting the real sleight of hand.<\/p>

      The Hikkake setup began with an Inside Bar<\/strong>\u2014a day of compressed, cautious trading. Then came the excitement: the price would briefly break the previous day\u2019s high, sucking in all the eager “breakout buyers” (like our friend Spike). This was the False Breakout<\/strong>\u2014the hook. Spike would dive in, convinced he was early to the rally.<\/p>

      Finn, meanwhile, would simply wait. His Hikkake strategy demanded patience: he only took the trade if the price reversed<\/em> after the false breakout, confirming the trap had been sprung.<\/p>

      Today, the stock was Dynamo Drill (DYNO)<\/strong>. It showed the perfect inside bar. The next day, sure enough, the price popped 20 cents above the high. Spike bellowed, “Breakout! We’re rich!” and piled into the trade, celebrating the initial surge.<\/p>

      But just as fast as the move began, it faded. The price action stalled, then swiftly reversed, falling back into the range, invalidating Spike’s breakout thesis entirely. The market had faked right, only to go sharply left.<\/p>

      \u201cThe market has gathered all the eager rabbits into the net,\u201d Finn murmured, calmly initiating a short trade below the low of the original inside bar. He knew that all those trapped buyers (Spike included) would now be forced to sell to cover their losses, fueling his move down.<\/p>

      DYNO plummeted as the trapped traders frantically bailed out. Finn secured a 3R profit in under an hour. When Spike asked how he\u2019d predicted the crash, Finn just tapped his screen. \u201cI didn\u2019t predict the crash, Spike. I just knew when the market had lied.
